    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women’s wrestling team was named a National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-America Team. The Tornado also had seven individuals earned Scholar All-America honors.

    ADRIAN, Mich. – The King University women's wrestling team finished up regular season competition at the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Coalition (WCWC) National Championships and concluded the weekend with 10 All-Americans and two national finalists. Cheyenne Sisenstein and Tavi Heidelberg-Tillotson led the Tornado with runner-up finishes in the 123 and 191 to lead the Tornado to a third place finish.
  • Final NWCA NCAA rankings Released

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – With the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Coalition (WCWC) National Championships only a few short days away, the final National Wrestling Coaches Association rankings for 2020 have been released. Out of 10 weight classes the Tornado stack up 10 nationally ranked wrestlers, half of which are ranked first or second in the country. Jacklyn McNichols and Cheyenne Sisenstein have both maintained their first place status for the entirety of the season.
  • Tornado move to 10-1 with win at Emmanuel

    FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University women's wrestling team traveled to Emmanuel College this evening for their final dual of the season. The Tornado had an outstanding showing with six wins by technical fall, one fall and a decision.to take the 32-10 victory.

  • King rolls through Limestone

    GAFFNEY, S.C. – The King University women's wrestling team traveled to local rival Limestone College this evening and put together a commanding win. The Tornado spun through Gaffney, S.C. in a flash as they picked up three technical falls and two falls to win big over Limestone 35-5. The only points scored against the Tornado were by forfeit.
  • Women's wrestling voted NCAA Emerging Sport

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Saturday at the NCAA Convention in Anaheim, Calif., women’s wrestling was officially voted an NCAA Emerging Sport. King was one of the first schools to add women’s wrestling, first competing in 2010.
  • Five champs for King at the Tornado Open

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Coming fresh off a third place finish at the NWCA National Duals, the King University women's wrestling team dominated their home open with 12 finalists. Aleeah Gould, Cheyenne Sisenstein, Allison Petix, Ashlynn Ortega and Nia Crosdale all won their perspective weight classes. 
  • King finishes third at NWCA National Duals

    Louisville, Ky. – The King University women's wrestling team have finished 3rd at the NWCA National Duals this year. After a tough loss to #2 Simon Fraser, the Tornado rally and roll over #6 Colorado Mesa by a score of 33-15. Cheyenne Sisenstein led the Tornado with a 4-0 performance. Three of these wins were by fall and she only allowed one point scored over the entire tournament.
  • Tornado advance to NWCA National Duals semifinals

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's wrestling team have moved into the semifinals of this year's NWCA National Duals. The Tornado cashed in two dual wins today. The first was over Schreiner University by a score of 34-6 and the second was another commanding win over No. 6 Ganon University, final score 37-6.
  • Two Tornado place at U.S Open

    Fort Worth, Texas – The King University women's wrestling was represented well this weekend by several strong finishes at the US Open. Ashlynn Ortega and Aleeah Gould led the Tornado with third and seventh place finishes. Notable alumni finishes were Forrest Molinari taking first and Julia Salata taking fourth.
  • 13 nationally ranked in NWCA NCAA

    Bristol, Tenn. - The first issue of the NWCA NCAA polls for this season have been released and King University is seeded second in tournament rank and third in dual strength rank. Individually the Tornado have 13 placed in only 10 weight classes. Of these placements, Jaclyn McNichols, Cheyenne Sisenstein, Allison Petix and Ashlynn Ortega all sit at the top of their prospective weight class. Interestingly enough, this gives King the most first place standings of any other institution in the country.

    FERRUM, Va. - The King University women's wrestling team continued their dominance this season as they steamroll Ferrum College and East Stroudsburg 42-5 and 39-5. Excluding a forfeit at 101 pounds and one match against ESU, The Tornado managed to win every bout by technical fall or pin.
  • Tornado win big over Limestone

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University Women’s Wrestling team put together an incredible performance against Limestone College this evening in the Student Center Complex.  The Tornado came away from the match with three falls, three technical falls three forfeits and did not allow Limestone to score a single point.

    MARSHALL, Mo. – The King University women’s wrestling team had a strong showing this year at the Missouri Valley Open.  The Tornado brought home two more individual titles and finished second overall in team points.

    Burnaby, BC – The King University women’s wrestling team had a very productive day at this year’s Simon Frasier International Open. The Tornado brought home two titles and was led by an amazing victory from Ashlynn Ortega, who defeated returning Olympic qualifier and World bronze medalist Michelle Fazzari in the finals.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's wrestling team opened their season at home 3-0. The Tornado defeated Ferrum College 48-0, Presbyterian University 37-8 and Tiffin University 36-11.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. - The King University women's wrestling team has been successful under 11th-year head coach Jason Moorman. The Tornado finished fifth at the WCWA national championships and runner-up in the NWCA Duals a season ago as they are eager to improve those finishes in 2019-20.

  • Hildebrandt takes gold at Pan Am Games

    LIMA, Peru – King University women’s wrestling alum, Sarah Hildebrandt won her fifth career Pan American event gold medal on Thursday in Peru. Hildebrandt went 3-0 at the Pan American Games, outscoring her opponents 28-0 at 53 kilograms.

    LINCOLN, Neb. – For the second time in program history, the King University women’s wrestling team had three alums make the Team USA World Team. Forrest Molinari earned her spot a week ago while Sarah Hildebrandt and Alli Ragan earned their spots on Saturday.
  • Women's wrestling, acrobatics & tumbling recommended for NCAA Emerging Sports

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Monday, the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics recommended both acrobatics & tumbling and women’s wrestling be added to the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women program. King University was a pioneer, being one of the first schools in the country to add each sport.
  • Ortega finishes third at WTT Challenge Tournament

    RALEIGH, N.C. – The King University women’s wrestling program had a pair of current wrestlers and an alum compete at the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament over the weekend. Ashlynn Ortega led the contingent with a third place finish.

    IRVING, Texas – Members of the King University women’s wrestling team competed at the Women's National Championships over the weekend. The Tornado had three placers on Friday at in the Junior National Championships and four on Sunday at the U23 National Championships

    BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – King University women’s wrestling assistant coach and alum Julia Salata won goal at the Senior Pan American Championships over the weekend. Tornado alumn, Sarah Hildebrandt, also won gold, helping Team USA win the team title.

    ATLANTA, Ga. – The King University women’s wrestling team is in fifth place after the first day of the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association (WCWA) National Championships. The Tornado have eight wrestlers remaining that have earned All-American honors, two that have a chance to win a national title on Saturday.
