BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's volleyball team was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the seventh time in program history when the organization announced their annual Team Academic Award recipients. The AVCA Team Academic Award honors collegiate and high school teams that maintain at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
This marks the first time the Tornado have earned this award since 2016, which was the final year of six straight for the Tornado. King was one of a record 1,125 teams to earn the honor, including 141 NCAA Division II women's programs.
King was one of seven Conference Carolinas member schools to earn the award as they were joined by Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Emmanuel College, Limestone College and North Greenville University.
