King finishes 5th at Barton Intercollegiate

WILSON, N.C. – The King University women's golf team finished fifth at the Barton Intercollegiate with a tournament score of 693 after shooting 347 in the final round. Sasha Gardiner narrowly missed finishing in the top 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gardiner shot an 81 in the opening round and followed that with an 84 to take 12th with a score of 165.
  • Finishing with a total of 166 was Grace Gillen who carded an 82 in the opening round and 84 in the final round.
  • Riley Grunewald followed an 87 in the opening round with a score of 86 in the second round for a total of 173.
  • Morgan Powers improved on an opening round of 96 with a second round of 93 to finish at 189.

FOR THE FOES

  • Tusculum University won the tournament with a score of 632 while the University of Mount Olive finished second at 635.
  • Jennifer Keim of Tusculum won the individual title with a score of two-rover 146.

UP NEXT

  • King returns to the course on March 23-24 at the Agnis McAmis Memorial. The tournament will be played at Graysburg Hill Golf Course in Chuckey, Tenn.
