    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced their all-conference awards this week and two Tornado were selected. Kay Brokering garnered first team recognition while Casey Gilbert earned ECAC honorable mention honors.

However, the seconded Tornado came up just short, falling to sixth-seeded Southern Wesleyan 3-2 in 10 innings at the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship.

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – The second-seeded King University softball team used runs late in the game against seventh-seeded Belmont Abbey College to stay alive in the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship. The Tornado scored six runs in the final two innings, taking the game 7-1.

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – Kaycee Casteel kept the King University softball team alive in the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship with a run-scoring single in the seventh inning. The second-seeded Tornado came back from a 4-1 deficit to defeat the fourth seed Trojans 5-4 to stay alive.
  • BAC upsets King in conference tournament opener

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – Seventh-seeded Belmont Abbey College completed the first round of upsets at the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship as they defeated second-seeded King University. The Crusaders scored three runs in the second inning and added two more in the fourth to take the contest 5-2.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Conference Carolinas Softball Championship gets started on Friday, and the league announced the academic all-conference performers on Tuesday. The King University softball team had nine players recognized by the league.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team split their final regular season doubleheader dropping game one and taking game two from Limestone College. The Saints took game one 4-2 before Rachel Farmer threw a shutout, giving King the 4-0 victory in game two.

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The King University softball team came away with a sweep at Converse College on Wednesday afternoon. The Tornado offense erupted for a 13-0 game one victory before Rachel Farmer tossed a complete game as King took the nightcap 3-1.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team dropped a pair of nonconference games to Tusculum University on Monday afternoon. The Tornado led early in game one, but four late runs from the Pioneers gave Tusculum the 4-2 win. The Pioneers then took game two 6-2 with three runs in the late innings.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team was in action again on Saturday as they hosted Catawba College for the first time in program history. After dropping game one 10-1 the Tornado were able to bounce back and use a couple of big flies to earn the split in game two 7-1.

Rachel Farmer tossed a shutout in the 5-0 game one win while Casey Gilbert came back with a complete game in the King 6-2 game two win.

After a heartbreaking extra-innings loss in game one, the Tornado were able to salvage the day and take game two to split the doubleheader, headed by a strong hitting performance from Kay Brokering.
