School records give Brokering consecutive ConfCarolins POW honors

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kay Brokering continued her to streak to start the season, earning her second consecutive Conference Carolinas Player of the Week award. She matched a pair of records a week ago, leading the Tornado offense.

On Saturday the Shelbyville, Ind., native drove in seven runs, leading King to a win over Lynn University, matching a school record. She also matched a school record with two home runs in the contest. Brokering recorded a hit in four of King's five games last week, going 9-for-14 for a .643 batting average. Three of those games were multi-hit games, including the 3-for-3 performance with two home runs, a double, four runs scored and seven RBI against Lynn.

Earlier in the week, she ripped a pair of doubles, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored in a win over Milligan. For the week, Brokering slugged 1.357 last week and had an on base percentage of .722 with four walks.

This is the second straight Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honor for Brokering and the fourth in her career.

King is in action on Tuesday at Lincoln Memorial University with first pitch at 1:00 p.m. The Tornado return home on Wednesday when they take on Catawba College at 1:00 p.m.
