  • Three Tornado selected for Conference Carolinas Elite 23 Awards

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Conference Carolinas announced their spring Elite 23 Award winners on Thursday, and three Tornado were recognized. Mason McCrury (men’s volleyball), Sebastian Lieflaender (men’s tennis) and Trader Flora (baseball) all won awards for their respective sports.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s volleyball season was cut short due to the national pandemic of COVID-19. Conference Carolinas announced their all-conference team, comprised of seniors from each member school as Sean Kohlhase and Julian Young were named to the team.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s volleyball team won their second straight match in as many nights on Friday when they defeated Tusculum University. The Tornado offense came out hot winning the first set, but had to fight back to defeat the Pioneers 3-1.
  • Tornado hang on to defeat Charleston in five sets

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball returned home for the first time in a month and gave the crowd a show as the Tornado went to five sets with the University of Charleston. The Tornado won the first two sets, only to see the Golden Eagles come back and extend the match. King then took the fifth set 15-11 for the 3-2 win.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s volleyball match at Lees-McRae College scheduled for Wednesday night has been postponed. The match has been rescheduled for March 25 at 7:00 p.m. in Banner Elk, N.C.

    GAFFNEY, S.C. – Taking the court for the first time in nearly two weeks, the King University men’s volleyball team fell at Limestone College on Monday night. The Saint offense was explosive all night as Limestone took the 3-0 win.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s volleyball bounced back and won a see-saw Conference Carolinas affair with Belmont Abbey College on Saturday afternoon. The Tornado set the school record for blocks in a match as King took the 3-2 win with two sets reaching 30 points.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s volleyball dropped a tough five-set match to Saint Francis University (Pa.) on Friday night in the Student Center Complex. The Tornado took the first set in extra points and held the upper hand throughout the match. However, the Red Flash took the final two sets, taking the come-from-behind 3-2 victory.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the first time in program history, the King University men’s volleyball team squared off against the top team in the country, on Tuesday night at was the University of Hawai’i. In front of a sellout crowd, the Tornado hung with the Rainbow Warriors early, but Hawai’i pulled away late in each set to take the 3-0 victory.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio – Playing their third ranked team in five matches, the King University men’s volleyball team fell at 15th-ranked Ohio State University on Friday night. The Tornado played the Buckeyes close, but ultimately fell 3-0.

  • Tornado drop heartbreaker at Barton in conference final

    WILSON, N.C. – In a matchup of the co-regular season champions, the King University men’s volleyball team nearly won their second straight Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Championship title on Thursday night. The second-seeded Tornado pushed top-seeded and host Barton to extra points in the fifth set. King had a chance at match point, but the Bulldogs came back to take the set 17-15 at the title 3-2.
