BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – In their final tune-up before the Conference Carolinas Championships, the King University men's swimming team had a solid day in the pool on Saturday. The Tornado defeated Milligan College 149-110 but fell to Union College (Ky.) 146-109.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 400 yard medley relay team of Maximillian Thomas, Jabari Ramsey, Dale Bruce and Jan Kuljak finished first with a time of 3:33.86.
- In the 1650 yard freestyle, Josiah Boyle finished third, touching the wall in 18:29.98.
- Kuljak won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.59.
- Ramsey touched the wall in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:00.35 to take third while Haakon Meyer came in fourth at 1:01.65.
- Bruce won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.21 while Radu Magda came in fourth at 2:11.78.
- Thomas touched the wall in 22.04 in the 50 yard freestyle to finish first.
- Boyle came in fourth in the 100 yard freestyle, touching the wall in 51.73 seconds.
- In the 200 yard backstroke, Thomas came in with a runner-up finish, touching the wall in 2:01.35.
- Bruce finished runner-up in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.88, within 0.5 seconds of the winner.
- Efren Martinez came in fourth in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.32.
- In the 500 yard freestyle, Kuljak came in second with a time of 4:58.51.
- King finished third, fourth and fifth in the 100 yard butterfly as Meyer finished third with a time of 54.49 seconds.
- Ramsey came in next at 57.06 seconds and Boyle took fifth at 58.36 seconds.
- Bruce took second in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.96.
- The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Thomas, Kuljak, Ramsey and Meyer touched the wall in 3:16.02 to finish first.
QUOTABLE
"We had some great swims today from our men's team, splitting with Union and Milligan to finish the season with a program best record of 6-3," said head coach James Graves. "We need to continue to rest as we get closer to conference, but I think we are on track for a strong performance at conference."

- The Tornado compete next at the Conference Carolinas Championships at the Mecklenburg Municipal Pool in Charlotte, N.C. The meet starts on February 13 and concludes on February 16.
