BRISTOL, Tenn. – Ben Delisle can add another award to his mantle following his great 2019 campaign. Delisle was selected Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Southeast Region for the first time in his career.
The junior garnered first team D2CCA All-Southeast Region, following a first team All-Conference Carolinas selection. Delisle netted 13 goals, including nine in conference play to lead the conference following the regular season. He also handed out three assists and led the league with 29 points. Delisle posted three games this season with two goals. He scored twice on penalty kicks in a win over Tusculum University, added a pair of goals at North Greenville University and two in a win at Southern Wesleyan University.
The Montreal, Quebec, Canada native led King with three game-winning goals, including the game-winners in back-to-back games against the University of Mount Olive and Lees-McRae College. Delisle led the league, going 4-for-4 on penalty kick opportunities and ranked second with three game-winning goals. Delisle was also selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week twice throughout the season.
Delisle is the first Tornado to garner all-region honors since 2014 when Chris Hicks was selected to the D2CCA All-Southeast Region second team. The last time a Tornado garnered first team honors was Tom Winspear in 2011.
