BRISTOL, Tenn. – Prior to the start Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship "final four," the league announced their all-conference performers. In his first season wearing the scarlet and navy, James Brown garnered third team all-conference honors.
Brown started 21 of the 25 games in which he appeared before missing the final four games due to injury. The Lansing, Mich., native led the Tornado with an average of 14.3 points per game. He also grabbed 4.0 rebounds and handed out 1.5 assists per game. Brown was one of the top defenders for the Tornado, leading the team ranking fifth in the league with 43 steals.
Brown eclipsed the 20-point plateau in a game six times, including two over 30 points. He scored what was a career-high 31 points at Virginia State University on January 5, and broke that mark with 33 points at conference champion Emmanuel College on January 26.
