King takes 9th at USAC MTB National Championships

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. – The King University cycling team finished ninth at the USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships over the weekend. The Tornado were led by Matthew Owen who finished fifth in the individual omnium.

LOCATION: Big Bear Lake, Calif.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Owen finished 19th in short track, 25th in cross country, 27th in downhill and 31st in dual slalom to take fifth in the omnium.
  • Kyle Tiesler finished seventh in the omnium, taking 41st in short track, 38th in cross country, 33rd in downhill and 32nd in dual slalom.
  • Also in the short track race, Jameson Simms finished 60th, Dominic Giannantonio took 64th, Ben Lightfoot took 65th, Dawson Sanders finished 67th.
  • Simms took 46th in cross country and Giannantonio finished 58th.
  • On the women's side, Kiley Krasley finished 20th in short track and Kate Dietrich finished 55th.
  • Krasley took 28th in cross country and Dietrich finished 58th.
  • In downhill, Krasley finished 28th.
  • Dietrich finished 34th in the dual slalom.
  • The team relay closed the weekend with a 12th place finish.
