King takes four wins, nine podiums at James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The King University cycling team had another successful weekend, coming home from the James Madison race with nine podium finishes. Of those nine podium finishes, four were victories for the Tornado.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Men's Category A

  • In Saturday's short track, Matthew Owen and Kyle Tiesler landed podium finishes, taking second and third, respectively.
  • Ben Lightfoot and Jameson Simms were far behind, taking fourth and fifth, respectively.
  • On Sunday, Owen finished 11th in the downhill while Tiesler took 12th.

Men's Category B

  • Dominic Giannantonio won the short track race on Saturday and finished 10th in Sunday's downhill.
  • Simms came in eighth in downhill while Lightfoot finished ninth.

Women's Category A

  • Kiley Krasley finished two wins on the weekend, starting with short track on Saturday.
  • Kate Dietrich wasn't far behind finishing second in short track and downhill.
  • Kylie Gardner finished third in downhill.

Women's Category B

  • Krasley won the downhill race and Gardner won the short track race.

  • King is in action again on Saturday and Sunday at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C.
