Gallishaw joined the Tornado men's basketball staff in the summer of 2019.
“We are very excited to have Julius Gallishaw join our King University men’s basketball staff,” Pitts said. “Julius knows basketball. He was an outstanding player at Virginia Intermont and has coached in the Bristol area for several years. I know that Julius will be able to help us in on floor coaching, recruiting, and especially in building relationships with our players.”
Gallishaw played a Tornado rival Virginia Intermont College and has been a coach in Bristol for many years. He is the second-leading scoring in program history, scoring more than 1800 career points. He also handed out more than 700 assists in his career and earned NAIA All-America honors as a senior. Gallishaw then served as an assistant coach for the Cobras from 2004-06.
“I am truly blessed and excited to be a part of such a successful men’s basketball program at King University,” Gallishaw said. “I am thankful for all who made this happen.”
He recently earned is Master of Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. While working on his Master’s degree, Gallishaw taught in the Bristol Tennessee City School system. While teaching, he coached basketball at Tennessee High School and Vance Middle School.
