Alli Ragan (Carbondale, Ill.) continues to be ranked No. 1 but at a different weight class than last month. The sophomore dropped from the 143- to the 136-pound weight class prior to rattling off a gold medal finish at the Harry Geris Memorial International Duals (London, Ontario) and finishing first at the NYAC International Open, where she earned an automatic qualification for the U.S. Olympic Trials held in April 2012.
By dropping a weight class, Ragan will clear the way for teammate Julie Salata, who is currently ranked third at 143 pounds. The freshman from Canton, Mich. has come on strong for the Tornado, finishing second overall at the NYAC International Open and going 4-1 overall at the Harry Geris Memorial.
Senior Emily Martin (Frisco, Texas) continues to sit atop the 109-pound division rankings, serving as King's second No. 1 ranked wrestler at their respective weight class. At the NYAC Invitational, Martin went 2-2 overall but defeated Alyssa Lampe, a former member of the U.S. World Team, by fall.
King placed a total of 12 wrestlers in the top-eight of each weight class and at least one in all but one weight class. The Tornado placed multiple wrestlers in the 116, 123 and 191-pound divisions.
