HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first set was tight, and King used a 5-1 run to turn a deficit into a 13-11 lead. Cathy Scaniffe started the spurt with a kill, Abby Anderson served up back-to-back aces before a block from Scaniffe and Emma Carico gave King the two point advantage.

  • Lee held their lead there for the remainder of the set, taking the frame 25-22.
  • The Flame offense hit their stride in the second set, opening up a 13-7 lead to force a King timeout.
