Kirk ranked fifth, King receives votes in poll Rankings

BRISTOL, Tenn. – In the final rankings prior to the NCAA Division II Wrestling Super Regionals, the King University men's wrestling team continues to receive votes. Individually, Dustin Kirk is ranked fifth at 133 pounds in the country leading into the competition this weekend.

Since the last poll, the Tornado fell to a pair of ranked teams in road Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) duals, 16th-ranked Newberry College and 23rd-ranked UNC Pembroke. King ended their dual season 5-7 overall and 2-4 in ECAC competition after dealing with some injuries down the stretch.

Individually, Kirk goes into the NCAA Super Region II Championships ranked fifth nationally, and second in Super Region II behind top-ranked Michael Labry of Ashland University. Kirk last took the mat on February 2, defeating eighth-ranked Jordan Simpson of Newberry 5-4. On the season, Kirk is 16-7, going 5-1 on pins.

King will be in action on Friday and Saturday at the NCAA Division II Super Region II Championships in Indianapolis.
