King takes 5th at WCU XC Festival

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The King University men's cross country team opened their season on Saturday at the Western Carolina University Cross Country Festival, running a 5k race. The Tornado finished fifth and were led by a 25th place finish from James Russell Ballowe.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Ballowe crossed the finish line in 16:27.93, leading the Tornado.
  • Charles Ramos came in next with a 5k time of 17:07.76.
  • Newcomers Kyle Hart and Cameron Walden weren't far apart, finishing within three seconds of each other. Hart finished in 17:36.54 while Walden crossed the finish line in 17:39.04.
  • Kade McDonald and fellow newcomer Trey Boulware rounded out the squad for King. McDonald finished in 18:27.27.81 and Boulware finished in 18:35.84.
