BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time this season, Tanner Cook has been named Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week. Cook turned in a stellar performance at the Greater Louisville Classic, finishing 10th with a personal record time.
The Abingdon, Va., posted his previous fastest 8k time of 25:41.00 in 2014 and he broke that by nearly 20 seconds on Saturday at the Greater Louisville Classic. He finished 10th with a time of 25:21.22, finishing within 40 seconds of the races champion. This marks Cook's second Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week award this season and fourth of his career.
The Tornado will be in action again on Friday when they compete on Friday at the Queens Invitational in Charlotte, N.C.
