Cook leads King at NCAA Southeast Regional

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Four members of the King University men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Southeast Regional on a wet Saturday in Wingate, N.C. Tanner Cook led the Tornado with a 15th place finish in a field of nearly 200 runners.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Cook finished with a time of 33:37.2 to lead the Tornado.
  • James Russell Ballowe came in next at 43rd with a time of 35:17.8.
  • Coming in next was Charles Ramos who covered the 10k distance in 35:38.9.
  • Tyler Edwards rounded out the group with a time of 38:17.7 in his first 10k race.

FOR THE FOES

  • Alex Griggs of Mars Hill University won the individual race with a time of 32:33.4.
  • Conference Carolinas foe, the University of Mount Olive won the team title and were followed by Mars Hill and Queens University.
  • The top three teams advance to the NCAA National Championships in two weeks.
