King keeps NCAA Volleyball stat rankings
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - King College held onto six Top-50 individual NCAA Division I/II Men's Volleyball stat rankings, as announced by the national office.
Joel Salva (Lake Mary, Fla.) had the highest individual ranking at No. 6 in aces per set with 0.52. He kept the No. 3 spot in the Conference Carolinas standings. Salva and an 8.68 assists per set average was No. 29 nationally and third in the conference. He was also No. 10 in the country and second in the league in the digs per set category with 2.32.
Morris Cephas (Richmond, Va.) was third in the league's digs per set ranking with 2.22 and No. 11 in the nation.
Eric Glenn (Portsmouth, Va.) and a 1.19 blocks per game average landed at No. 13 in the country and second among league players.
James Friddle (Cartersville, Ga.) and a .328 hitting percentage was at No. 18 nationally and third in Conference Carolinas.
In the national team categories, King was No. 11 in digs per set and No. 13 in both aces and blocks per set. Within the conference, the Tornado squad was second in blocks and digs per set along with hitting percentage.
King, at 4-4 overall and 1-2 in league play, will host Conference Carolinas foe Pfeiffer (N.C.) University on Saturday, Feb. 19, for a 4 p.m. match.
