JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The King University men's swimming team traveled to take on Carson-Newman University on Friday night. The Tornado, who were swimming shorthanded fell to the Eagles 159-31.

  • The 200 yard medley relay team of Juan Somoza, Ethan DeRouis, Tyler Brewster and Aleksandar Stosik started the meet with a time of 1:43.57.
  • In the 200 yard freestyle, DeRouis finished with a time of 1:57.67 and Wayne Bilancione came in with a time of 2:05.85.
  • Somoza came in with a 100 yard breaststroke time of 1:03.56 and DeRouis clocked atime of 1:09.43.
  • Three Tornado competed in the 50 yard freestyle, led by Stosik's time of 22.28 seconds. DeRouis came in at 24.09 and Bilancione finished in 25.05 seconds.
  • Stosik and Brewster finished the 100 yard freestyle in times of 50.49 and 51.08 seconds, respectively.
  • In the 200 yard backstroke, Somoza finished in 2:05.59.
  • The duo of Brewster and Bilancione finished the 100 yard butterfly with times of 57.58 seconds and 1:05.61, respectively.
  • In the 200 yard individual medley, Somoza finished in 2:03.67.


  • King travels to Union College (Ky.) on Saturday, February 3. The meet in Barbourville, Ky., is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
