Brian Kamm has collected a wealth of experience over the last 30 years of his professional and amateur golf career that he has used to steadily build the King College golf program to its status today. A former golfer on the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour, Kamm has laid the foundation and is beginning to enjoy the fruits of success in his third year with both the men’s and women’s programs.

The 2011-12 season began with headlines that Kamm’s No. 1 on the men’s side, Adrian Kibsey, qualified to compete for the Canadian Amateur National Championship. The Tornado kicked off the fall season with one of its three wins on the men’s side at the North Greenville Invitational. Kamm saw three of his golfers named to All-Conference teams prior to taking to top-5 finishes away from their first Conference Carolinas Golf Championship appearance. Six of his golfers were named to the Conference Carolinas All-Academic Team and Josh Bamberger was named Scholar Athlete of the Year in men’s golf.

Kamm began his profession career on the PGA Tour in 1990 and was inside the top 100 players on the Tour Money list for three years between 1993 and 1995. He also finished inside the top-10 on the Nationwide Tour Money List in 1992 and 1997. Kamm claimed a victory in the 1997 Honda International, held in Guadalajara, Mexico, competing amongst some of the top professionals on the Tour, at that time. He also took home a win at the Ben Hogan Panama City Beach Classic, in 1992.

He began his amateur career in 1981 where he placed third in the New York State Amateur competition that year. He played as an amateur until 1984. In that time, Kamm won the 1983 Monroe Invitational in addition to medaling and placing as a quarterfinalist in the Western Am in 1984.

Kamm played his collegiate golf at Florida State University from 1979 to 1984 where he played alongside of PGA Tour greats Paul Azinger, Jeff Sluman and Nolan Henke. Kamm took home first place in the Seminole Intercollegiate Championship and in the Metro Conference Championship in 1984, the same year he was named a NCAA All-American.

Kamm worked with and learned from golfing legend David Ledbetter for 16 years in addition to working with top sport psychologist Dr. Bob Rottella for five years.

He graduated from Florida State University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in child development and family relations. Kamm is originally from Rochester, N.Y. and is married to his wife Yvette. Together, they have a daughter Brandy (26) and a son, Michael (24). The couple currently resides in Bluff City, Tennessee.
