Roberts Named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Conference Carolinas has released its Players of the Week across all spring sports in action. Two King College student-athletes have been named to that list, including Softball’s Hannah Light and Baseball’s Carl Roberts, who both had outstanding opening home stands.
Carl Roberts has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week during week number three of the 2012 season. In the Tornado's doubleheader with the Salem International University Tigers, Roberts went a combined 5-for-7 with two runs scored and four RBI. The Blountville, Tenn. native hit his first home run of the season, a two-run laser over the right field fence, to help King take and maintain an early lead in the 7-0 win. King went on to sweep the three game series over Salem to improve to 4-5 overall on the season.
